Remember a Charity
Nearly half of our fundraised income comes from generous supporters who have chosen to leave a gift in their Will to Livability. Gifts in Wills are vital to ensuring that we can continue to tackle social isolation and the barriers that can cause this in the lives of disabled and vulnerable people.
Every year, more and more people choose to leave a gift to charity in their Will. However, many of our supporters aren’t aware that these precious gifts are vital in allowing our work to continue.
That’s why we’ve joined forces with Remember A Charity – the largest consortium of its kind in the UK, with over 150 member charities – working to promote legacy giving amongst the UK public.
Every September, the annual Remember A Charity Week aims to raise the profile of legacy giving and encourage the public to consider leaving a gift in their Will. Through humorous, light-hearted campaigns and with the support of member charities, professional advisors, government and partners, the week is a focal point for raising the profile of charitable giving in Wills.
What does Remember A Charity hope to achieve?
Writing your Will is an important way of looking after the future of your family and friends. After you’ve taken care of loved ones, you may wish to leave a gift in your Will to your favourite charities.
Gifts in Wills will be vital to our work in years to come. So if we all leave some money in our Wills for charity, as well as our family, we can make a huge difference.
‘My husband and I made a decision to choose a number of charities who we support financially once a year and some others that we’re going to leave money to in our Will. We chose Livability because you work with disabled people, you’re a Christian charity, you provide residential care and you make disabled people feel valued in society.’
Gifts in Wills generate:

What can I do?
The reality is that without gifts left in Wills from people like you, many of the charities we know and support wouldn’t even exist. A small gift, even just 1% of your estate, can make a very real difference. We can all do something amazing for the world, by remembering our favourite cause when making a Will.
Making a Will can often seem a daunting prospect, but it’s a lot more straightforward and affordable than you might think. You should always speak to a legal professional to discuss what best suits your wishes and circumstances.
