Join Pete at Parallel

So! You’ve been thinking about signing up to run/push with Livability at Parallel on 3rd September 2017. It’s in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic park. There will be inclusive sport, festival fun, ice creams on tap, and great activities for friends and families. What’s not to like? It’s already a tempting mix.

But now – there’s another reason to join in.

Livability’s amazing ambassador and marathon man Peter Thompson – will be joining Livability to run on the day. Peter Thompson recently supported Livability by running 44 marathons, in 44 consecutive days, in 44 European countries. He did this to raise awareness for mental health and funds for Livability, having been inspired work at our wellbeing centre in Poole – Livability Holton Lee. Read about Marathons For The Mind.

Pete’s going to be taking part in the 10k event at Parallel and is looking for as many Livability friends and partners to join him as possible. And Pete will be joining Livability in the Community Zone of the event festival afterwards, so if you are signing up to a different run/push event, you’ll still get to chat to him.

There is absolutely no need to be a professional runner – Pete is still in recovery mode from his marathon challenge anyway! But if you have ever wanted to ask Peter all about his 44 marathon challenge, what he learned about running or what he learned about himself – and for any tips on how to travel around Europe on planes, trains and automobiles – Parallel is your opportunity!

Pete says: ‘I just wanted to tell you that I am delighted and excited to be joining Livability at this year’s Parallel event at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. This wonderful day is such an important event in promoting inclusive sport, having fun and enabling all ages and abilities to take part. I am rather relieved to say that there are no marathons involved – and certainly no expectation to be a professional runner. Parallel is all about having fun, taking part and celebrating the day together.’

Livability have free charity places available – and would just love to welcome you on the day to get involved.

If you – like Pete – you feel passionate about tackling barriers that leave people isolated, promoting mental health and working to connect people with their community – we’d love you to join in with the day! The money you raise will be used by Livability to support disabled and vulnerable around the UK.

Are you passionate about tackling barriers in people’s lives and working for more inclusive communities?

If so, join in and support Livability by taking up one of our FREE charity places at Parallel London – the fully inclusive fun push/run at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.
